Olwen Fouéré is a talented an Irish actress and writer and director born in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland known for her exceptional performances on stage and screen. She pursued her education at University College Dublin, where she studied English and Philosophy.  She was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in 2016 from  Dublin City University. The Irish Times ranked her as the 22nd greatest cinema actor from Ireland. She has six nominations and four wins. She has worked with renowned theater companies such as the Abbey Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, showcasing her versatility and range.

Samuel Beckett Award’ at the Dublin Theatre Festival for her role as Hester Swane in the world premiere of “By the Bog of Cats” by Marina Carr at the Abbey Theatre 1998. She won the Best Actress’ at the Dublin Theatre Festival 1982
